This subject; life

A Poem by Adrienne

You wonder what the point is,

of this messed up crazy world

when the universe turns against you

and you remain the swelling girl...

It has its perks, no doubt.

But the pain is really tossed

You give and give and give

and in the end your happiness' lost

Where do we find the warm place

underneath the chilly ice?

the place where every thought is sweet?

the place where everyones nice?

Is this place existent?

or are we all just lost aboard?

This ocean, empty, suicidal

where muffled is the pain of a sword.

If I had a single clue

about this subject; life

I'de write a book and sell it

and we could all ust sleep at night.

Instead you cry yourself to sleep

and wake up feeling dead.

Are lovers even happy?

Will our souls ever be fed?
