Fearful anger

Fearful anger

A Poem by Trivén

Indignation stems from this
treated as a wounded animal
frightened to the verge of death
hanging by a thread
only fury holding back
from the last step off the edge
the cliff standing tall
haunted by regret
what would've been different
remorse kept at bay by stormy waters
fueled by anger
slowly running out of energy
calmer waters we set sail
to the end of the earth and off
one final step
one last breath
in a heartbeat
the thread snaps
and all that once stood up tall
brave and unafraid
becomes all full
and goes soaring back
back from where they were made

Well, I've read through several of your latest poems. They all have a heavy thread, an inner struggle against your/our contradictions. Lol, a part of me wants to say 'hang in there man you are not alone', so I say that to you. Another part seperates the author from the work, and gives you a thumbs up for the expression of this inner struggle which we all undergo in some form or other - we carry our memories and scars, but, they also inform who we are - they aren't as important as we sometimes make them, what is important is how we use them to better ourselves and thus our species. Keep experimenting!
