FatherlessA Poem by Tristen CullisonEnlightening, Uplifting, Somber, Short
A boy grew up without his father
Yeah fatherless A few years later he's a man and he's lost another Now hes upset reminiscing good times with his mother Yea it's safe to say he misses her Tries to reconnect with his sister Its too bad she's grown now and shes got a mister Things were left unsaid, it turned sugar sweet into bitter All he wants to do is talk but that relationship is dead and the only thing left is the evidence chalk He does not know how anyone could relate In his head he'd like to debate Constantly worried if he is the greatest New Iphones yearly is his latest LISTEN! he doesn't need the biggest thing OR to be so famous he can find himself on Bing He does not need the championship rings Just as long as he flies high and spreads his wings "Be proud son" "The job is not finished you'll know when it's done" "I know it is hard and times are changing" "But boy don't you ever get to blaming" "Or self shaming" "Because it only leads to doubt" "Hit the mental weights and work it out" A few last words from a mysterious note Found in the back of a closet in a dirty leather tote A man grown up without his father He's strong and ready to father his.
