A Poem by Tristan E

if i have found my home in her

if i wrapped myself up in her voice,

found salvation on her lips
,
traced psalms on her back with my fingers
,
discovered my purpose in her laugh
,
found my waist longing for the way she clings to me at night,

if i miss her more than i missed her who was before

if i sleep at night knowing

instead of hoping

that i occupy her thoughts

and she knows the same of me

we sleep side by side every night

even though we are miles apart
;
the moon looks upon us and she smiles,

she sends her army

and the stars bond us closer than we ever dreamed we could be
if i know she loves me

if i not just hope, but do not falter;

if i have no doubt that she means every word

that comes from the sacred temple that is
her body and mind;

she writes every holy word i choose to live by

by word of mouth escaping angelic lips

without knowing she is the heavenly being i pray to

if i have finally found my home in her;

if i make my bed in her heart so huge
,
if she grows for me,

her hands outstretched
until she can stretch no further

if she retreats

if she runs away from me

is there anyway i could escape?
