One Eyed ManA Poem by MortriciaA poem based around the proverb, "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man was king."The land where the man with one eye sleeps Is covered in people who cannot see Of course you'd think this man to be king To view what the rest could only dream
The people, full of hate, were quick to decide That the one-eyed man, so full of sight was a fake because there was no way to prove that he could see the sun, stars, and moon
He could see the sky, earth, and trees He could see all the land where he should have been king But, upon this land were those blinded thieves Who stole his rank out of envy and greed
The man disappeared and found a cave to mend Where the sun shone not and the darkness was his friend His sight decayed and he wondered in the end Just how many one-eyed men there had been.
