Call Me Selfish

Call Me Selfish

A Poem by David Elijah

When I
find
my-
self
una-
ble
to
fall a-
sleep

I
find
red
lines
across
my
throat
I bleed

the blood
drops
like rain
feel no
pain
in self harm
the pain
is felt in the heart

call me
selfish
but i
despise myself
and i have
no con-
cern for my
own health.

review!
edit: I don't actually partake in self-harm. The imagery is just metaphorical. See my reply to Santateo White Jr's review
