Call Me Selfish

red

lines

across

throat

I bleed

the blood

drops

like rain

feel no

pain

in self harm

the pain

is felt in the heart

call me

selfish

but i

despise myself

and i have

no con-

cern for my

own health.

Sad and deep, this poem is part of the reason I wrote my poem Arm Of Scars for my friend, I hope you don't feel this way often and if so I am turly sorry, Nice work

Oh yea i forgot how misleading this poem would be about how i deal with emotional pain. I don't actual partake in that kind of self-harm. To me this poem is a metaphor for how I tend to stay up literally all night watching TV or playing video games because I hate being alone with my thoughts. I guess the imagery of slitting my own throat was suppose to portray the suicidal thoughts and self-hatred I gain at night in my bed with my mind unoccupied.

I completely understand I have terrible insomnia, I stay up at night with my thoughts and I just want to escape them too, I wrote a poem about it I often try to write until I fall asleep but most nights I can and I'm alone with my thoughts and all the pain and hatred, it's good that you don't do these types of things to yourself, I understand the metaphor behind it now...

Night mist be the best time to right I guess... Oh thank you I hate that she feels that way this s**t hits home for me because my sister's use to cut so all I can do is try you know, so much on my mind so I wrote it all out I guess...
