In Hot Water

In Hot Water

A Poem by David Elijah
"

februaryninthtwentyeighteen. shower thoughts.

"
A culture full of plastic
Not where I want to live

I'll let this water burn me
Now I don't want to leave

Leave everything behind
Three walls of solid white

I'll let this water burn me
Now I don't want to leave

There's no more soap to wash away
disgrace as black as coal

But heat upon my back keeps me
warm in a world of cold.
