Inspired by a photograph

I imagine you bent over a keyboard in a dark room

slicing, rewinding, editing

Nimble fingers creating, concocting, conspiring

I imagine your menacing hair tucked away under a beanie

and the way you casually brush it aside when it slides into your eyes

I imagine how long it took you to choose the perfect track to accompany

the moving vehicles, slo mo skate park pans... your most recent muse

I imagine what it would feel like to once more be enveloped and insatiably

inspired by the creativity coursing through you

I imagine one day you will invite me to sit next to you while you work

while I press my cheek against your arm, fingers wrapped tight to bicep,

 

and sigh with delight
