Mother dearest

Mother dearest

A Poem by Bean
"

You can run, but you can't hide. She is a part of you

"

I cut her out of my life

but you can't cut the strings

that form when you are

in her womb

Instead she reared her ugly persona

in unexpected ways

as I found myself mimicking her behavior

when anything became heated or emotional

I felt her steel green gaze

eminating from my frame

As ice cold synonyms

slipped from pursed lips

Who have I become?

This bitter, brutal b***h!

A triumphant return to

therapy's couch

I think we've all sat on that couch once or twice. I think that's why we write like we do. It's cheaper. Even when you're angry you still have great choice of words, great imagery.
