Some Sense In My Nonsense

Started off as an attempt at a nonsense poem, but it quickly ended up being about my life at the time and a reflection on the situation I had found myself in.

I smelt the smell of melted wellies,
Laid back upon my jilted jellies
And hugged the purple people-eater.

A leaf did fall aloft upon
Another's head who waffled on -
I wondered if I'd even meet her

In long tall grass with falling seeds,
Amongst the dizzybumble's deeds
The other side of nutty river.

I thought I'd have to drag her there,
By nape or scruff or fist of hair,
If first she doesn't kill her liver.

Drowned in poison or drowned in life,
She swims so far under my sight,
And locks herself inside.

A pickled pock of little drops
Fell down around us as we stopped
And considered, should we hide?

But back beneath the droopy tree,
We sit together, her on me,
Enjoying us for now.

It may be fouled, we may be fiddled,
By purple people we once riddled,
But only time can tell us how.
