The internal

The internal

A Poem by Tricia Johansson
"

Like a memoir, but poetry. The first thing I have written for years.

"

The internal conclusion

of what’s happening inside

is confusion

and I’d be the dying bride

The confusion,

the names it throws at me

The conclusion,

the fact that is obvious to see.

I’m not me, but still not you,

I’m not free to be compared to what you do.

I’m not the one, and you cannot choose it

We cannot run, and you will lose it.

The conclusion will be.

The internal emotions,

for the sake of feeling

I despise it, why not put them in the ceiling?

I do wrong, I’m confused,

I’m just hold, beaten and used.

The internal conclusion,

of what’s happening outside,

Is the inner confusion,

which I’m forced to hide.

Author's Note

Tricia Johansson
English is just my second language. I appreciate advices and corrections. Only constructive criticism and respectful corrections appreciated. Overly critical comments are not necessary, in fact; keep them to yourself. I would like to hear your opinion on what the poem is about, sure, but I'm mostly interested in the "technical stuff" like spelling, grammar, how I used the words etc. This poem is about my feelings now, and I don't care if it sounds typical or depressing or needy.

Indeed this reads as if the protagonist lacks self respect and will endure in order to experience 'love'. This should never be the case no matter how screwed up one considers onself!
