Already Gone

 

They say I was the last girl they thought would ever do it,

But really I was just like everyone else.

They say they never thought I could do something like that,

But I did.

They say they didn’t know how to help me,

But they were wrong.

They say I was strong-willed,

But this isn’t what they meant.

They say they’re here for you,

But they don’t know what being there meant.

They say you need help,

But they don’t know how to give it to you.

They say you’re messed up in the head,

But they didn’t know how much.

They say there’s no reason for you to be sad,

But I don’t have a reason to be happy.

They say don’t do anything that is dangerous,

But what everyone calls living is dangerous.

They say to not do anything that you can’t take back,

But I’ve already left.

They say everyone loves you,

But not until you’re already gone.
