Litton Path

                            

                            
Open hearted pain she feel everyday it seems so real
moments of laughter stopped with a tear
eyes so full a strength a path she'll always fear
when awake or in dreams she'll always prevail
hearts are lost and bricks are gained
dreams are shattered
she sheds a tear and watches it fall
then stands up and brushes herself off
the door is closed
but
a window will open
fear begins
then is trampled by hope
loss is received
then
love brings her faith
that in the dark there is always a flame
a candle waiting at the end of a path
she wishes she would have never of taken
and with this Hope, Fear , Heart brakes and brick
she'll never look back always look ahead
everyday is toward the flame
till the day its close enough that she no longer feels pain
strength will no longer be the path she fears
because she'll realize that it was always there
so she can take down the bricks
and escape her fears
so by this never again being trampled by things that she once feared

No more tears
and broken hearts
just a feeling she'll never explain

and a candle she'll always trust to light her way

Wow, there is a lot going on there. I feel like I have been on the journey of the poets heart. How it has experienced life, how it has grown and hardened with that brick wall to protect it's self. But than an epiphany that changes everything. Hmmm, a flame/candle, what does this represent, religious/spiritual or a strong human soul you can lean on, depend on? Excellent write Sarah
