Synopsis.

The badly decomposed and mutilated body of local scrap merchant 'John Rummage' is discovered in the pigswill at Flatt Farm.

The local constabulary, under the questionable guidance of Detective Constable Brian Cant are promptly notified, but small town police are never experienced enough to deal with a case of this magnitude.

As a result, "Dandelion and Murdoch", a husband and wife forensic team from neighbouring Skelmorlie, are brought in to assist in unravelling the mystery of what has become known locally as "The Pigswill Stiff mystery."

Early evidence points to a gang of ferrets from the north, known collectively as "The Forefar Five."

Led by the notorious 'Jim (is my hair alright) Slaven,' a well known Club circuit Ventriloquist and stage Hypnotist from Kilbirnie, 'The Forefar five' have been in the sights of Detective Cant for as long as anyone can or can't remember. The gang believe they are infalliable, but a crumpled note, irresponsibly discarded in an ash tray in McCabes bar, reveals that there is more to 'The Pigswill stiff mystery' than meets the eye!

Will Dandilon and Murdoch crack the case?  Will they uncover the identity of the dealer who supplies the local dance band with their drugs?

Is D.C. Cant smart enough to see through the deception of Andy McCormack, 'The one eyed milkman' from Stevenson and will 'The Fife Four' - A team of corrupt detectives, brought in from the east coast to assist Dandelion and Murdoch with their enquiries, deliberately hinder the proceedings?

As the story unravels, all will be revealed... Or will it?
