Letting goA Poem by Annie Nicole
Something is blocking my thoughts,
weighing me down like an anchor, while waves crash up against me. Trying to move against the wind. This journey is harder than anyone before. i stop and just close my eyes, imaging my goal to not let heavy situations hold me back. I get a good grip on the chains, I pull it up and fling it onto my back, now carrying it with all of my strength. No longer letting anything weigh me down, but still holding onto it until i reach my destination. Finally i reach the sand and drop the anchor. Crawling up the shore, i sit, i take a deep breath, and i feel the relief of letting go of the stress that had controlled me for so long.
