Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by Annie Nicole

I am always looking at myself,
in the mirror,
in the reflection shown in the window,
a picture saved in my mind.

Also seeing something else,
me somewhere else,
having fun, enjoying life,
with other people I do not know.

I am always losing myself,
in my thoughts,
in reality,
in the thoughts of someone else.

I am never just living my life.
I am always walking around
carrying everyone as I go.
Not that they depend upon me,
nor do I on them.
But being a sponge,
absorbing lives as I live my own.

Wanting to be released from these links
of chains,
of people,
of memories.
Living in the moment,
as ones do.

I am always looking at myself
in the mirror,
in the reflection shown in the window,
a picture saved in my mind.

Who am I?
Who are these lives I subconsciously hold?
Will I every let go?
Do I have a chance,
at my own existence?
Maybe so.

Its a gift to be this sensitive
and to carry so much
You voice the heaviness of it all
But most caring people seldom live within the "now"
They are always somewhere else

I like your use of the mirror to put this idea across
pretty interesting

I liked the honest and direct thoughts in the poetry.

The above lines could stand alone. We will question often who we are. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I did and you are welcome Annie.
I like this poem of yours. ;)
Sometimes, no.. most of the time rather... I am thinking whether this life is real or not, whether there is another me on the other side of the mirror, or another me in another place, time and stuffs like that.. about the people and things holding me down right now, what am I supposed to be doing, what I need to do.. ahh, there's so many things to think about..Thank you for your beautiful poem. :)

Simply thought provoking, most of the time we are all lost in deep thoughts, thoughts which always roam around our head... Your poem speaks of something that we can relate to, most of us don't live life in the present but busy with many thoughts and that's what reflects on the mirror when we look at it.... Well done Annie...

Sincerely
Dhiman
