Busy minds

Busy minds

A Poem by Annie Nicole

I have been distracted,
my head has been in this never ending ocean,
waves crashing against the sides of my mind,
loud and energetic.

I need it to calm down,
I have things to do,
 that need to be done.

I have things to plan
that need to be planned.

I have no time to waste,
with time already being so fast,
I can't catch up to my feet.

All i want is to lay down in a shadow of soft green grass,
with the wind blowing over me,
as the world moves around my motionless existence.

All i want is to have a free and empty schedule,
so that i can feel what i'm feeling,
without the world around me interrupting.

Let me be.

Many of us can relate to this... We all have so many things to do, there is no time to sit down and rest... Our brains and minds are full of different thoughts and pressures for which we want some free time to go away from them and enjoy the feeling of true freedom in the care of nature... This is such a thoughtful and very well presented work my dear frnd....

Excellent poem! Time slips by waiting for none ans there's a lot to achieve. At the end all you want to do is escape for a while into a serene place relax.
VERY VERY RELATABLE (especially when your exams hover over your head. so much to do but no time)

:) np......
Life is so busy that we move from one work to the other. You have described it very well. And it would be wonderful to lie on the grass with the wind blowing through your hair.
You have voiced what most of us feel and want.

Powerful. Very relateable, I have these thoughts every day and it's nice to see them put into words. I love the line, "as the world moves around my motionless existence." Great job.

Thank you James!
Did I read that you are 16?! Oh, I do envy (in a very kind way) the talent that you are exercising already. This is so well done and something that most everyone can relate to. Love the first stanza especially!
