Storm

Storm

A Poem by Annie Nicole

A raindrop hits the freckles upon your face.
Holding onto your straw-made hat,
while the winds blows through your curled blue skirt.
Lightning strikes in the distance.
Waves crashing down,
like a wooden table being smashed on the ground.
Clouds traveling away so fastly,
in large, dark puffy masses.
You hurry towards safety looking around for any sign of life.
But all you can see is the darkness over crowding the skies among you.
When suddenly the loud bangs and crashes begin to stop.
Almost silent you might think.
Light breaks through the mists above you,
the heat from the sun hits your cold, wet skin.
Your mind begins to slow down and you finally get a chance to breathe,
a chance for peace and tranquility.

After the storm. Always a calmness.
"Your mind begins to slow down and you finally get a chance to breathe,
a chance for peace and tranquility. "
The above lines are true. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to good ending. Thank you Annie for sharing the excellent poetry.

Again, I love the imagery you portray. You have a knack for it. I love the waves crashing like a wooden table!

Thank you! : )
I like this. It really details the feeling of standing out in a dangerous storm, and the relief of sunniness to come afterwords. Nice work!
