Blood stains down a murky wall
meet the fuzzy top of my half-brother’s head in a faded monochrome painting. Leaves of my beloved roses wither yellow and brown between the ghost drifting amidst cobwebs and dust, and the demon sitting proper upon his broken wooden throne. Half-ground spices lay sprawled across the kitchen floor, an arbitrary display of black, brown and white. A cutting board with some sliced mold rests on the dented counter. A jagged edged silver killer sits smiling into the cold flesh of its latest victim. And the victim’s ghost sits in the corner, writing these words on a piece of paper... © 2019 Treble |
