Betrayed By Myself

Betrayed By Myself

A Poem by Treble

Blood stains down a murky wall
meet the fuzzy top
of my half-brother’s head in a faded monochrome painting.

Leaves of my beloved roses wither
yellow and brown
between the ghost drifting
amidst cobwebs and dust, and the demon sitting proper upon his broken wooden throne.

Half-ground spices lay sprawled across the kitchen floor,
an arbitrary display of black, brown and white.

A cutting board with some sliced mold
rests on the dented counter.

A jagged edged silver killer sits
smiling into the cold flesh of its latest victim.

And the victim’s ghost sits in the corner,
writing these words on a piece of paper...
