Mercy

Mercy

A Poem by Treble

Let the wind carry me
like a sailboat on the ocean.
Take me far away from emotion
into the depths of devotion.

Let me be a feather free
like a teardrop mid-fall.
Take my body as a doll,
move me far away from all.

Let my watch like birds-eye be,
like a raven in a tree.
Take the heart that slowly beats,
put it out of misery.

Let these words sink in, my dear,
like love that knows no bounds.
Take my love to spread around,
then my body, six feet underground.

Let love and laughter know no fear,
like the heart I used to own.
Take these words as truth I've known,
and over 20 years have grown.

As I lay still, don't shed a tear;
Now I can start to heal.
If in this time you feel some grief,
remember - for once I am at peace.
