Frozen in TimeA Poem by Treble
The ice shatters beneath my feet.
I feel myself sink with every step. The freezing waters surround my ankles. They brush the pale crevices, adding a layer of cold to the already cold heart. A child throws a rock, a stone. The ripples caress my jeans. Blue turns to grey as the colors wade in the water. I hear my name in the wind. Then silence, as my hair floats. Silence, as my eyes close. Silence, as my smile is plastered. Silence. A beautiful sound. © 2017 TrebleAuthor's Note
