What They Never Had

What They Never Had

A Poem by Treble

Watch the little girls grin,
Their faces so thin
From the grains of rice a day they ate,
Their only food in a small crate.

Watch the big boys happily play,
Their only toy old and gray.
Kicking the heavy ball,
Their feet ever so small.

Watch us as we play and eat,
Having a heavy meal of meat.
Watch as the littlest one of us
Goes to the littlest of them making a fuss.

Watch as he gives her a bite to eat,
And gives her a kiss ever so sweet.

much better than your first one i read i must admit.
I love the story line to this, because its very real which is sad but true. Though there are children living this way. I like how you described how some children live, compared to the not so fortunate ones.
I loved the ending that was an awesome ending, so touching.
This was a really meaningful, touching, sweet, deep, emotional piece.
What an empowering story.
Very well done :)
