PaintbrushA Poem by Treble
From the balcony of our hotel,
I watched the silver streaked waterfall. It was pink from the sunset. My sister and I watched as the pink set further and further down. My little one, the littlest, said, "I love you, mommy" Just as the sun grazed the horizon. I hugged him tight, Asked him how he knew just what to say. He laughed and said, "Mommy, I knew to say it because it's true." I felt my laugh come from the sincerest part of me. It was a puzzle how such a little boy could be so sweet. I picked him up and hoisted him on my shoulders to watch the sun dip gently below the horizon. When the sun disappeared, he said, "Mommy, I love you so much I want to paint with you." It was music to my ears, as it was our favorite activity. "Okay, but first, let's think. What can we paint?" And as the pink set into dark, our paintbrushes set to mind's eye. © 2015 TrebleReviews
