IF

IF

A Poem by ...

In the minds eye, I'm not so far away...

If you hold out your hand,

in the whispers,

I'll become the zephyr,

and besiege you.

If your eyes upon the stars,

in the crystalline darkness,

I'll become the moon,

and the light shall guide you.

If you rest upon the ground,

in the warmth,

I'll become the grass,

and embrace you.

If you turn outside,

in the wetness,

I'll become the rain,

and upon your forehead, kiss you.

If you free the air,

in the light of day,

I'll become the sun,

and smile for you.

Between the miles-

If you need me,

If you need a friend,

let me be the friend,

I want to be

Thank you so much, Cassie :)
Simple yet storytelling, visually beautiful. Reminds me of some of my favorite writers. Thank you for sharing this with everyone.

Thank you for stopping by
quite an ode. The voice here speaks so softly and nurturing. A rain forest lullaby, or the fine, subtle notes of a Cabernet wine. Very nice.

Thank you so much for coming by, Roarke :)
I'm not sure why, but this reminds me of an old wool Hudson's Bay Company blanket that I could always count upon when I realized that the chill of November had begun to set into my bones. Lovely.

Thank you SF :) Kinda cozy to know my poem reminds you of a reliable blanket :)
I sense some wounded pride. A desire to be known for what you are, something that has not been noticed and coveted. I loved the closing a lot. It made the entire poem end with some silent gun powder!

Quite captivating & eye-catching poetry you've come up with. Love's such a ecstatic thing that makes people or lovers swung with fantasy, for long. Nice shot!

intense proclamation of love in this poem...and most importantly at the end...being the friend...that counts most, and lasts the longest.
