Awesome! I like the editorial before the poem.
Then you go right out and sell me your "lie". Strangely, I want to believe it. After all, no one is ever "just saying" anything they don't feel something about.
Truth is often like trying to breath under water.
The oxygen is there. It's all over the place, only without gills we will never experience the life it could give us...
Ok, sorry... You got me inspired and thinking. Thank you at the very least for such a gift!

Nice how you transit between what doesn't matter and what matters more than anything else in the world. And in that transit is the power of your words and thoughts. Just sayin'
This is very nice. Sometimes I hear people say things and then end with 'just saying' and a little shrug and laugh but deep down, whatever they have spoken isn't a laughing matter. There is a deepness, and perhaps a sadness to their words to be heard, only if someone really listened. I like your line, ' I ant to be the one I delighted in being before I got here'. Very profound. Good job!
lynn, the phrase 'just saying,' implies that what you are saying is trivial. But a lot of times when talking to others and hearing that phrase one should pay attention because, like your poem, there may be profound opinions or dreams to be shared. And I really like how you inserted "And in closing..." A perfect fit. Very nice work, young lady! take care...dan
and in love there is truth...and beauty when the other finds a significant other to be straightforward...
i love the line about being "the one i delighted in being before i got here"
to me it reminds me of how cynical we become when love lies to us...and i too want to believe in it again...
just saying! :))))

Reminds me one of my recent write called "The Life Of Poorer". Very true and evocative insights you've captured in your poetry. Sometimes, I think, there's no worth of writer's words cos, unfortunately, even the world's not gonna be changed just cause of the vibes of his words, he can only show others the glimpse of truth... but is utterly failed to shape it, but not exactly. If we go more into the depth of writers life, then we come to know how passionately born he's & how insubstantially substantial his thoughts're 'bout. Even his words've power to changed the whole course of universe, somehow but the world merely worth his existence. Very nice poetry you've come up with, dear Lynn.

Its funny you should write about this
I love your free style
Let me bring some Arabic touch to it
Selling requires some sort of lying unless you go to a very honest merchant. Here is the neat part
The market in arabic is Souk
This word's origin means doing bad
Arabs believe markets shouldn't be a regular place you visit
to avoid over spending and falling for lies
with exception to a few honest ones
It seems today everything became a market
Relationships, friendships, colleges, libraries
its funny
I love this
You got some edge to you :)
Or alot of edge :P
Life rally is Truth, Dare or Drama! Life nudges us to share, give, sell selves in different guises for different senses and sums. The wise know the value of truth, and the transient worth of lies. The drama is played out in the discovery what is right, what is perfec. And your two final lines say it perfectly. What matters is that glorious four letter word.
I love your musings and your poetry, Lynn...so full of wisdom and truth about the world around you...
those last lines hit home, deeply, for the heart's life is dependent on so much...
well-said, my friend
