NO-THING

NO-THING

A Poem by ...

To my "daddy" I was "drippings"
Ya, I s**t you not.
A squirt for someone else to raise,
or not...he didn't care either way.
I was no reason to give a damn.
Not a second thought.

To my mother I was a REASON,
To show his a*s up.
To say, "hey b*****d I did it"
She did it.
I'm raised.
Had everything I needed
but encouragement and hugs.
How do I know he said that?
Mom wanted me to know.

To my husband I was one of many women
he abused along his way.
Raised two of his many children
He never saw fit to help raise

To many others I was a thought or two...
maybe three,
but thoughts are fleeting.
Life to busy
to bother with the nothing...
that's me.

To YOU I was interesting...
for a while,
but already unimportant...disposable,
and placed in the cordial hello category
for kindness sake
kindness pays me no mind

I am many Things.
all these things I've been.
all these things I've become.
Some-thing to rape
Some-thing to beat
Some-thing to cheat
Some-thing to use
Some-thing to lie to
Some-thing to leave
Some-thing to forget...

I am many THINGS to many people,
but I'm here to tell you,I am NO-THING...
at all

A powerful poem dear Poet.
"I am many Things.
all these things I've been.
all these things I've become.
Some-thing to rape
Some-thing to beat
Some-thing to cheat
Some-thing to use
Some-thing to lie to
Some-thing to leave
Some-thing to forget..."
People who abuse, I believe will pay with bad karma here or in hell. You re not nothing. You are everything. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the thought provoking poetry.

First, brava!!! I uv looking for your next poem. This was a fire to purify the past and claim your voice.
Second, my heart goes out to the child, the teen, the wife... the woman whom you describe.
Too often we assume what others do is a reflection of how they think of us. Usually, it is about themselves and not us.
Assume the best intentions... Hard to do. I'm working on this one myself.
At the end of the day, you are a living soul with beauty beyond any measure.
Great way to end the poetry Lynn.

Hardball. This says it all. It is THE end of the conversation, a world without end.

You have to tare muscle to build it, life is an exercise of the heart :) Thank you for stopping by, .. read more
Of course, you're not ev'n a thing to crush deep down under the feet but well pleased 'neath the glory of peaceful and Romania sky. I have a feeling that you wrote this poetry since you were being in pain and were just cursing the s***s you've ev'r done in life but first, it's not what's 'bout ...

... you talked 'bout families issues;
then love aches... then moved on to life but it got shattered, no sage,
your every fate seemed to be broken in pieces ... no matter what ... people used you cos that's why their night made 'em doin' so.. but you just got used by 'em cos, you had put your faith in 'em which accidentally costed your heart, spirit ev'n though your whole life very badly. Very heartfelt poetry you've written here ... seemed you wrote a page - the page of your life to soothe your aches.

Strong lines:

To YOU I was interesting...
for a while,
but already unimportant...disposable,

Disposable? What a usage of word! Yes, you are not a disposal but a very great and sweet live-proposal that's meant to be swallowed deep down in heart & spent the whole life with for long ... drinking love in it.. off it and for it. Nice imagery though quite emotionally heart. Am sorry to hear 'bout your life.

May God bless you!

I find it very easy to blame everyone else but myself for my shortcomings....that is what I get from this write. Not many of us had the perfect life with two parents that loved us and treated us kindly. Unwed mothers run rampant today. Many in my family are taking in foster kids as their parents do not want them. One day we have to grow up and accept the fact if we want change in our lives, we have to take responsibility for our own choices. No one is perfect. Valentine

I respect your opinion, Kathie, and thank you for your review
I hope this was cathartic for you Lynn to open and share. If only it leads to the terrible things you have endured becoming part of the past and allows you to experience happiness more often. Only people who have experienced such wide ranging abuses can really understand what it feels like. I was not sure how to take the ending as there are two scenarios/interpretations that I see. First your defiant voice saying 'I am not a thing to be used and abused' and second you feeling worthless-nothing. I hope sincerely it is the former?

This was amazing. Absolutely amazing. I love the fact that you conveyed all of that emotion - in a simple way. I felt it. How could you not? Thank you so much for this!
