Tired

Tired

A Poem by ...

I'm tired.
The kind of tired that sleep doesn't relieve.
The kind that makes things I loved before you
loose their flavor.
I try to catch a breeze, reach,
suck in some fun, some sun,
wish upon a star...
hope...
It's stale.
It's all stale.
I don't have a reason anymore.
Days are so mechanical
nights are sleepless nightmares
I should have never loved you.
Should have kept my space.
Should have never let you touch me!
What the hell was the point?
I cared for what?
You made me care for what?
 This?
To rip and tare me more?
To make me feel?
congratulations! I feel.
I'm more lonely now than before
What i am, is, all that love has accomplished...
Pain!
 All the rest is camouflage.

"I cared for what?... You made me care for what... " These're true feelings of heart you've come up with simply & painful words. Yes, love makes people thinking ov'r such thoughts deeply on nights.. on days... even in their whole lives to know the reason, why they loved or beloved! But they ain't find that's not even existed. Liked the imagery. Well done!

There is so much pain here.. anger and brokenness... the fighting to wonder why love would do this... leave this horrid empty space... Your words strike so deep... and leave such scars in their wake...

Life, you know? But sure glad to see ya :)
I think that last line is a stunner. It brings all the beautiful poignancy of the previous write into such sharp focus. This was beautiful bile if you like and the can be such a thing.

Amen, Lynn. A feeling I know all too well. I sense the pain and anguish and the regret in these lines and live them every day. The kind of fatigue you describe goes well-beyond overworked and under rested; it permeates the soul and leaves us empty and broken.

I am glad, however, that you have returned, so you may know that you are not alone.

A painfully honest write.

I really hate the feeling that you describe, but yes underneath the blah for the day to day, there is the anger that boils away. the hurt and the pain that fester. When I broke with my first fiance, I was always amazed that people did not realize how affected I was. No one acted like there was anything different. When I finally cracked at my best friend's house, her boyfriend was surprised and shocked and she admitted later that she ws too, although she knew me well enough that she understood. At that point it only took a song to crop up. Vince Gill's "Never Knew Lonely" if you do not know it, I suggest you not look it up until you are ready. Camouflage--I guess sometimes it is more than skin deep.

Nothing any of your readers says regarding this poem is going to make you feel any better.
The piece is heartfelt, strongly emotive and, as always, articulately expressed.
All I got, sis!

~~ i'm sorry you're tired, lady lynn... ~~ i haven't known the pain that you've known but during the time when i was going through the worst pain that i've been through... i would stare at the walls... and one day... i saw that one of the walls in my room has a map of the world... and i kept staring at it... and suddenly i realized that there must be many people out there who are going through the same thing... and i didn't feel better... but i did feel less alone... ~~ at the time i felt as if someone had physically split me into two and taken one part away... ~~ i could always listen to music but back then i couldn't bear to listen to music... ~~ after a while, the pain didn't subside... i just found ways to cope with it... ~~ i don't think the pain goes away... ever...

talk about "living with you is worse than without you"

a really bad relationship can make us just not give a damn about life...so sad this poem...
those regrets...that love we can't take back....

I can definitely relate to this Lynn.... it's not a good feeling or a good place to be in but it's normal and feeling pain is better than not feeling at all :) Stay strong my friend!
