When I'm Drowning

When I'm Drowning

A Poem by Traxler

I do my finest thinking when I'm drowning,
so catch me nose deep in your sea swells
Inhaling salts and complacency
When enough is enough ill return to you, atmosphere

Hold me down without gravity
Bring me higher than a sixties jam
And ill swim laps until my legs give out
And do some more fine thinking
Oh the liquor on my breath
And the sway in which you move is the perfect combination

This is beautiful, and the many different meanings that are implied as well as those that can be imagined makes this poem relatable. We all have something we drown in, something that consumes us, whether it be good or bad, and you have captured that idea wonderfully in a poem. Great job.
