The Golden Age of SilenceA Poem by Cameron8/2/2004
If silence were golden, then I would be rich
You see, I'm swamped with an overabundance And conversation with the television isn't very fulfilling, like sleeping with your socks on If headaches were healthy, then I would feel great all the time You know I don't sleep well ; it's a bad habit of mine And hanging out with empty space just leaves me dry, like a river with no rain If love were like heartburn, my heart would be a steady blaze But distance just struck us and left us to age And talking to pictures just isn't the same as face to face, like a kiss through a space suit. © 2013 Cameron |
