Clay Doll

Clay Doll

A Poem by Cameron

I'll be a statue,
with my lips all frozen in a smile ;
a grin that stretches from ear to ear,
and I won't speak.
I won't even breathe.
Erase all signs of my humanity

And I'll be clay
I'll be malleable,
so you can make my shape.
Make me pleasing to the eye,
and if you please,
rid me of this disease they call humanity
Change me so that I can make you smile
(At least, for a while.)

I'll be the breeze
I will brush your cheek,
and then I'll go my way
You'll feel nice, and I won't wear out my stay
And you will sigh and say
"It's such a pleasant day",
and then you'll smile
Invisibly, I'll agree, so silently.
