Dream On, Galahad

Dream On, Galahad

A Poem by Cameron
"

Memories of ghosts ...

"
One more chance to forget about sleeping ;
the night's never kind to me, and I hardly dream
Fancy flights of these angels send life
coursing down through my veins into corners well-hidden
Dark midnight skies always tend to belie
the fact that I'm a speck on this small, cosmic sphere
I weave all these words just to feel like I'm earning my keep on this planet
Do others feel that way too?

One more chance to forget about feeling
My body, it seems, has no long-term memory
Fickle plights of these ladies and knights
span the ages, and still, no one's learning a lesson
So I'll sleep when my mind will stop plaguing me
with pictures of the tears in her eyes
One more bold move ; a kiss and a promise
Devotion is stronger than all of their doubts in a row

One more chance to forget about anger
The more it infects you, the harder it chokes
So I'll sleep, and I'll let it abate ;
watch its airy ascent to the dark clouds above
Where's the cold sense in sitting here restless?
Inaction can only cause problems at times
Keep on dreaming ; my darling, I love you
I'll join you in dancing across the wide face of the sky
