A Lesson In Life

A Lesson In Life

A Poem by Cameron
"

An embittered song about my last relationship :D

"
I am drowning in my own flesh
It's a sea that threatens to swallow me
But I'll keep swimming through these murky waters,
coming up for air when I feel the need

I spoke with your ghost last night,
though I didn't have much to say
Then prayed and wished until
your spirit floated away

I am choking on this thin air
It's all around, and I cannot seem to break free
So don't keep telling me to smile,
despite the lack of air in my lungs

I spoke with your ghost last night,
though I didn't have much to say
And hoped and cursed until
your spirit floated away

I light these candles,
in the hopes that they'll keep you from me
And leave you to wander
for all eternity.

Chorus
