Society Rant

Society Rant

A Poem by BrokenButterfly

Words no longer need to rhyme

I see no need for rhythm

I see only beauty

in the words written.

From something beautiful

on which to write beauty

in the very essence of the word.

In a world where the word

love

no longer has a meaning

wars are typical and

everyone is misjudged as a

stereotype.

What is left for the

human race to draw from

this earth if we drown

meaning in society?

Where nature is inhabited

with metal beings

mighty but not alive

Where life is over at 13

if you aren't perfect

and don't have your life

planned out.

Where many lives are taken

in car accidents easily avoidable

and many others take their own lives

before they are old enough to drive.

We are in a death society.

Dieing from birth.

You live to die

so learn well,

live while you can,

my friends.

Spoken from a level of detachment that is helpful. Taken in stride are the incongruities of existence.

Thoughtful...

I write when emotions are raw, and almost uncontrollable. It is a temporary fix to a long term problem - having too many thoughts in my head. Sometimes they just need to come out. more..
