A Sailor's Life

A Sailor's Life

A Poem by trapperhoney
"

the call of the sea

"

Heave ho, bring it in

The anchor up, the sea to win

Off we go over the glossy blue

Gasping and gazing, loving it's hue.

If by chance a storm arouse

While in debt to our vows

To the sea forever be true

Never to claim our awestruck crew.

The sail strung high to the tallest mast

On the mercy of the wind we're cast

We are tossed, swimming and swaying

Lulling ourselves by singing and saying,

Heave ho, bring it in

The anchor up, the sea to win

Off we go over the glossy blue

Gasping and gazing, loving it's hue.

The sea, the sea, the mighty sea,

It's a sailor's life for me!
