Life Before Dreams

Life Before Dreams

A Poem by transentience

You’re the one
Time kept from secrets
Safely sound
In waves of light
Slowly stretched
The new vibration, deeply crimson
Painted lips
In melodic kiss
Warm and wet
Like gloom that meets
The edge of Spring

The vision stream of memories
Our past lives--passed down
In waking dreams
The gift of remembering
Your legacy
Torn from holy scripture
The spineless men
Whose pride in doubt
Denied your crowning rites
Dethroned and plagiarized
In a coup d'tat of lies

A lion's prey
A phoenix, scorned
Unbalanced formed
In the madness you’re ascribed
Lapis lazuli ties moonlit seams
Adorning royal eyes
My gaslight queen
Your sun scorched wings
Still scream into the sky

Lapis lazuli ...wow! thank you for that! what depth of color!
very unique to treat time as a keeper .. a protector ... i am pondering on that one ;)
your treatment with light, color and waves is intellectually appealing to me ..i love that stuff of science ... yet it is woven beautifully into the mythos of fallen goddesses and the phoenix .. "my gaslight queen" almost seems obscene given her previous descriptions ... i hate that she stands before you burnt and suffering so :(
i am drawn in ...and challenged by your poem ..made me think and think again
