A LIFE LONG DREAM

A LIFE LONG DREAM

A Poem by tranquilspace
"

Even for her, the future was a bit too vague sometimes

"
 Doubt was a second name,
To reach and achieve that feat,
That child would think she couldn't do it.
More than ten years that child knew,
 That child had planned,
 planned till the last minute.

The determination in the child's eyes,
The commitment in the child's words,
That child felt she wasn't smart enough like the others were,
 That child had strong will,
 That child loved to read,
But was ever too lazy to do so.

 The feelings she bottled up
 would be her downfall.
 Excitement washed over her
 whenever she talked about it,
 Showing commitment.

A hardworking child, Too many distractions for her,
She'll fight because maybe she knows
She won't reach the top alone.

Thanks so much for taking your time to read
Makes me think of children working towards a goal of being in the Olympics. Must be so challenging.

Sometimes we spend too much time planning and not enough time doing. Keep at it. You'll get there.

Thank you for such nice words and reviewing
natural born ability is one thing but takes hard work, commitment and effort. must be weighed against the fact that we're only young once so no harm in having some fun dreaming too.

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” - Thoreau

they will find a way in their own time ... :)

The children are amazing. They can do anything they reach for.
"A hardworking child, Too many distractions for her,
She'll fight because maybe she knows
She won't reach the top alone."
I have five grandchildren. They remind me. I can do more. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Strong will and self doubt are the two opposite aspect on achieving a dream... They can not walk hand in hand. Hard work and commitment can help achieving that dream. Nice poem

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and the lovely review.
Dreams need planning and dedication in order for them to succeed. Too much distraction along the way will lead to failure. Total motivation is the way to achieving what you want. No room for doubts. Positive thinking required. Thank you for posting your work. Keep writing.
