The Barbie, The Sister

The Barbie, The Sister

A Poem by Kris Tate
"

A rant/rave about my older step sister

"

I wonder
When I sit up at night
If you ever really
See... understand... try... me
I really do get you
I understand your dreams
...your fears
Do you have any IDEA
What I want, what I fear?
You ...
You want and fear the same thing
Something you already have
The "American Dream"
The money, what was the last time you had to brag
2.5
The fame
Your plastic surgeon husband
The Family
Do you have any IDEA what I want
WHAT I NEED?
Why do you get all that given to you?
Who are you to get that?
I just want to be accepted...
The WAY I am
Without you wanting me to change
...who I am, what I wear, who I love
You STILL don't know me
Why can't you be bothered, to learn?
You mother only married my dad
You may be "family"
But you don't matter
You the Barbie, the perfect one
EVERYONE wants you, to be there
...to be there for you
WHY?
