I Can't Say I Love You

if I say those simple three words...

There's only 3 words to tell you
That I don't know how to say
Days are passing by too fast
And the price of time will pay

My mind begins to search
For doubts within a mile
It's on the tip of my tongue now
With each and every smile

But if I say I love you
I cannot take it back
If its charisma that I have
Then it's courage I must lack

You said it before me
You beat me in the test
But do you really mean it?
I won't ask.. it's for the best.

And I cannot say those 3 strong words
for I said them once before
And they were said by many souls
Spawning broken hearts galore.
