Two Nights and Early Morns

Two Nights and Early Morns

A Poem by Tracey Gould

The glimmer of sadness

    in your eyes

    as our lingering clutches release

    our lips separate reluctantly

    our longing embrace

    replaced with tempting space

Out-shadowed ever so slightly

by feelings of new, youth, hope

    and the pulsing

    beat of hearts

bones to bones, body to body

    manhood to womanhood

Remnants of your slightly wet lips

    gentle, yet commanding

    your state champion hands

    caressing my face

    grazing my chest

    temptation and anticipation

The two nights and early morns

are now gone but linger on

    forever etched

in a corner of my heart

    my mind scrabbles

    for now, maybe forever more,

    my heart is yours.
