Our first baby

Our first baby

A Poem by Llee Hill

I scooped her into my bosom,
And gazed into her round brown eyes.
She opened them and blinked,
Then gently fell asleep.
A creature so sweet and fragile
O how my heart melted...

A newborn's cry is a language of heaven.
And only God knows
What they mean when they make it

I closed my eyes and danced,
My lips whispering a new song.
Sweetest moment of my life...

"Darling", a gentle voice called.
I turned and there she lay,
In hospital clothes of blue,
The mother of our first baby.
Her eyes shimmered with tears,

She smiled, and I remembered,
How, the day we first met,
That smiled had pulled
all the secrets out of my heart.

I wiped a bead of sweat on her forehead,
And kissed her awhile.
Thankful to God for such a wonderful wife,
And for all the tremendous joy she'd brought me.

Today, she had finally given me,
The one thing I had always longed for...

This is a beautiful way to describe a most important event in life. Babies truly are a gift and their laughter brings happiness. I loved reading this.
