icarus

icarus

A Poem by toza
"

what if icarus was saved by apollo?

"
what if --
when icarus flew too close to the sun
on wings of feathers of wax
instead of falling to a watery grave,
he fell right into apollo's embrace?
-- ah, what then?
(the sun will bow, the stars shall sigh:
"ah, to be kissed
and to be missed
by the boy whose hands cradle the sun
by the boy whose hair begs to be kissed by sunlight
ah, to be,
to be --
to be his sun.")
