August Showers

August Showers

A Poem by toujours

After the showers the drops rain again
Dripping
Slipping off tress and into gutters
Leaving the smell of earth fresh until the sun dries it
Through the gray sky beams of gold highlight patches of beauty
Illuminating their worth
Spots of color speckle gardens
As flowers are in season and are blooming everywhere
Shades of brilliance sparkle
As the sun climbs out from where it was hiding
It smiles
Feeding the flowers their needed warmth
Night falls
All is forgotten
