Fresh cityscapes to start anew
No way to replace what they thought of you Broken skylines, melting walls, oozing bricks Nothing calls. Fires of truth, lies of stone. You can't break down what is unknown. Crying out the injured shriek. Begging, pleading. But none can speak. Curses fall on those who die But only those with shame will fly. Into darkness no one sees. Angels fall amongst the trees. Don't go searching in the depths To find that which some have wept. Run to the moon, for soon you'll find An inhumane sense of pride. Turning back, They all will scoff. Crane your neck to see the sky. Bow your head in solitude. March on with a fortitude. The only way to win this war Is to show them what's worth fighting for. Carry on for those who wait. When you return help them create Fresh cityscapes to start anew. No way to erase what they thought of you. Don't dictate what they think they know. Be who you are. © 2011 toujoursAuthor's Note
