To My MuseA Poem by E. A. LideYou are the starlight and its subsequent dawn. You are the doorstep the cat leaves its findings on. You are every speck of dust dancing in any first-light's beam. You are roses and daises and the smell of rain in spring. You come in hues and blues and many shades of grey. You dance among the yellows the sun gives you everyday. Worth more than every diamond grown beneath our earth's crust, your heart is wrapped in gentle tides and the only thing I trust. You walk the paths lain for you by moonlight's beams on lakes, and those who've tried to follow you have made a grave mistake. For where you head is to a future emancipated from the past, where ignorance and idiocy are traits that couldn't last. You move in wind and thunderstorms, there's lightening in your breath, to fell those who've called you woman, my mighty lioness. © 2014 E. A. LideReviews
