MidasA Poem by E. A. LideI’ve got blood on my blade and red in my ledger, but a pure white shade is my favourite colour. And I won’t let myself sleep when it’s dark, for the night-whispers know my heart.
I’ve got death in my name and I’m undercover, wrapped up in the sheets of never-ever. And if the day-time should take my life, then I’ll finally know if there’s a light.
I’ve got faith but no religion; I’ve got love, but none to give. I believe in believing, but I’ve got nothing to believe in.
I hope for the worst and then kiss it better. I know just how to make you suffer. And I know just when your life will end, for it will be by my own hand.
I’ve got faith but no religion; I’ve got love, but none to give. I believe in believing, but I’ve got nothing to believe in.
I’ve got blood on my blade and red in my ledger, but a pure white shade is my favourite colour. And everything I touch is dyed a crimson red.
I’ve got faith but no religion; I’ve got love but none to give. I believe in believing, but I’ve got nothing to believe in.
I’ve got blood on my blade, and red in my ledger. © 2014 E. A. LideAuthor's Note
