A kiss I Should Have MissedA Poem by BrooklynI regret one thing from that night: The kiss. As I stood over him, I felt like I needed a final goodbye. So I laid my lips upon his forhead and kissed him goodbye. His skin was cold and dry. It reminded me of the skin from a doll I once had. And now that is the last memory I have of him, that skin that felt fake. It was almost like a final blow to the gut to remind me that he was gone. © 2014 BrooklynReviews
