the expression of each writer is different spme write based on their experiences and some more about events and emotions. Yes structure plays a big role in writing but to me a good write is someone that can express what they feel, think, seen and make the reader get intrigued and capture their attention. Someone that can paint the picture and emotions for the reader. I don't think I'm a good writer but I keep writing because it helps me with my negative emotions. And is my healthy outlet to release that, do I consider myself a writer? Not really...but I'm glad your friend said those things to you, keep writing if is our passion don't stop.

Do not give up on yourself writing is a passion and sometimes in doing a passion we mess up but that doesn't mean the passion is gone sometimes it means it's stronger so you must work harder

If you're struggling on words, then there's a book called "MASTER LISTS FOR WRITERS" By: Byrn Donovan. It helps if you legitimately can't think, like a writer's block. It helps to practice writing with cliches. Even though writers aren't supposed to delve into anything unoriginal, it always helps to practice. Also, if I really like an author, I'm going to find his grammar the second most important thing, so avoid run-on sentences, and if you don't know what those are, you should learn all you can about English. The most important part though, is how you describe something. If you take a long time describing blue eyes to the ocean, you're going somewhere good. Using big words is nice, but make sure you limit them. If you use them too much you'll sound like a bad poet. Practicing always helps, also being descriptive.

I read Stephen King's book "On writing". It is full of great information and lots to learn. I would also agree with King and many other authors, the professors who taught me in fiction courses, that the most crucial thing to do when learning how to be a better writer, is to READ A LOT / WRITE A LOT... REPEAT. There is SOMETHING that happens when you read for hours. Read not really to study, but to just GET INTO the story you are reading. You will start to "hear" the rhythm of good writing... Writing is like music. It has a flow, yes fiction, not just poetry, should have an ebb and flow to it. You will see how to show, not tell. You will learn what it is to drag your reader in on a sensory level. Make them smell what your characters smell, see what they see, feel the dampness in the depths of a cold, dark well. It will teach you how good writers use emotion to draw the reader inside. Get a subscription to writers digest. Lots of great articles. I heard King say, he reads and writes for three to four hours a day. I put my three year old son to bed and I read and write, every night, without fail, for four to five hours. In a period of doing this for three months I saw already an advance in not only the quality of what I was doing, but in the intricate things I was starting to see in the writers I was reading. Things began to soak into me, just by reading. The last advice. READ YOUR WORK ALOUD. When you think it is done.... read it to someone. Read it to NO one.... just listen to it. If it sounds off... IT IS. Fix it. That is the best way to learn. I promise. And if the dream is really in you, keep learning, keep reading, keep writing.

can you read I need a new vampire woman writing partner
As I have commented before, you need to focus on punctuation...proper names, like Steven, need a capital letter. Those are the little things that will polish your writing. I like the article...because it is valid. It takes time to learn all the things you want to learn. Not only do you have to learn them, you have to practice them. Choose one lesson at a time, then write and practice one thing...until it becomes easy for you. Then move on to another lesson you want to learn. You are doing well, and from what I've read of your writing, you do have interesting story lines.
