Freedoms Shore

Freedoms Shore

A Poem by Tori Heales

There used to be a place I went to sit with myself,

A place I crept to rejuvenate my health.

Where the oceans met sand,

And there appeared to be no land,

It was grand.

There used to be a place to lose myself in,

I'd pick up my guitar and begin strumming.

And in the blink of an eye I was at one,

My feet were rooted my arms towards the sun.

Once I drank by freedoms shore,

I laughed aloud and preyed for nothing more.

I had a dream I could go anywhere,

Opened my eyes and I was there.

These are days when I just can't contain,

The pure urge to relax, be free just remain.
