That's All There Is - Poem #59

A Poem by toritto

Watching toddlers frolic at the shore with squirt guns,
building sand castles under the watchful eyes
of their beautiful MILF mothers
sitting nearby in sun hats

moist in the heat,
beads of sweat collecting in swells and creases,
I realized they didn’t know
it doesn’t get any better than this

for soon the tadpoles will be waiting in line
at the snow cone stand, drenched in hormones
cruising the Bubba Burger drive thru
totally unaware of how beautiful they are

until one day they will park beer bellies and stretch marks
in lawn chairs, dozing under a beach umbrella
covered in SP60, one eye open, looking around
coming to the realization that some how they missed it all.

How sad! I find myself hoping they will never reach that realization.
Very good imagery, though.
Well done!
