Nostalgia - Poem #38

Nostalgia - Poem #38

A Poem by toritto

Are the roses in bloom in the Bois de Boulougne
Wild flowers ablaze in the cool Texas dawn?
Do high heels still rule on the Champs-Elysee
La moda high style on the Rue de la Paix?

Does the temple still stand n ithat fine Cheswick garden
where once we stood on a chill Autumn day?
Do you sweetly recall our last stroll down the Mall
Is English still spoken round Mandalay Bay?

Outside passed midnight looking up at the stars
Soft glow in the night like hanging cigars
Are you missing her scent?
Missing her taste?

Nostalgia. Nos-tal-gia. Nos-tal-gie.

Wistful affection
The same in all language; a distant reflection
of those times you couldn’t know
were the moments of perfection.
